now I have a heart for love stories

Once we got to high school, we were in the same friend group, and the teasing started to look a liiitle more flirty. Funny, right? I still denied any feelings to my friends who just rolled their eyes and said, "its ok, we'll wait". By our junior year, I couldn't even pretend anymore. We started dating, took a brief intermission (because it's hard to go from childhood friends to bf/gf that quick!),  then got right back together! It only took a month for Him to tell me he wanted to marry me! I laughed and said DUH! We dated for 5 years before tying the knot in October 2024. Marriage has been the biggest blessing to us. We always say that we are thankful we got to grow up together, and now we get to grow old together. I love our story!

Then I fell in love...

Unusual for a wedding photographer to say! Growing up, my sister was always the romantic. She would be swooning over movies like Sleeping Beauty, while I was outside hanging upside down from our zipline. We had this family friend who everyone always said I would end up with. I nearly gagged every time someone would say this. They couldn't possibly be talking about the same guy who used a tennis racket to pelt pinecones at me, wouldn't utter a word to me during carpool, and teased me relentlessly! 

I was never really the romantic type...

One might say our love story turned me a little bit romantic. Our story feels right out of a movie or storybook, which absolutely is the heart behind what I do now. I used to say it felt like there was no adequate way to express how in love I was with William. Wedding photography allows me to put these feelings into a tangible thing that can be cherished forever. I wholeheartedly believe that wedding photography is not just about capturing your wedding day, but the heart and story of who you are as a couple. Your wedding day should be the best chapter of your story, and it is my honor to preserve it forever!

So why the butterflies?

Growing up, butterflies were my thing. When I say I had butterfly everything, I mean I had butterfly everything. My bedroom was butterfly themed. My clothes were butterfly themed. I was even a butterfly for halloween! Butterflies were enchanting and magical to me as a child. I also love how they symbolize new life, similar to being born again in Christ. As I was planning my new branding and the direction I wanted my business to go, I chose Galatians 2:20 as my foundational scripture. This verse says, "It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me." I think butterflies represent our new life in Christ so well!

I still love the magical, playful and enchanting presence butterflies have. I think wedding days have this same feeling. When you look back on your wedding day, I want you to feel that magical, childlike joy you experienced on your big day all over again. Your gallery should feel like you are looking through a fairytale storybook. I never thought I would be one for a love story, but it is now my greatest joy to tell yours! Thanks for being here.
